Setting up an IMAP account in an e-mail program is the basically the same as setting up a POP3 account. This implies that all you basically need to change with the configuration is POP3 to IMAP.
What is IMAP and how can I use it?
Important notice:
Please, take note that, it is only possible to send e-mails if you have chosen the authentication option (SMTP-Auth) in your e-mail program. This option is not set by default. Hence, you have to activate it yourself.
This is how you can easily setup the SMTP AUTH (ASMTP) for your e-mail program.
Detailed instructions for the most commonly used e-mail programs are found here:
During the configuration of your e-mail address in your e-mail program, choose the IMAP option, often found under the tab Server type/Server Information or Name of E-mail server.
Please, not that the incoming server is, imap.strato.de. The outgoing server is smtp.strato.de. While the user name still has the form, name@yourdomain.de.
