How do I set up spam protection in STRATO Communicator?

This function enables you, for example, to automatically file incoming e-mails using the File in spam folder option or Always reject them. To set up or edit spam protection, please click on Settings E-Mail Spam setting in the menu bar.

This opens the menu where you set up the spam protection. Decide what is to happen with the e-mails defined as spam. Then save your settings to activate your spam protection.

If you want to move spam to a separate folder, this folder will be automatically created in the STRATO Communicator as soon as the first spam e-mail is received.

STRATO employs a number of effective defensive mechanisms to spare your inbox unwanted spam e-mails. This includes, for example, identifying emails the originators of which are listed on so-called blacklist servers.

A further successful defence mechanism is examining emails for specific model texts used in spam e-mails. When these model texts appear, the e-mails are identified as spam and rejected or flagged as spam e-mail.

Please note that in exceptional circumstances, spam filters may also classify harmless emails as spam, based on the model text, for example, and deal with them accordingly.
